Volume I

Leo Dressel is a producer, singer, guitarist and songwriter based in Toronto. With a career that started in his mid-teens as a guitar player in the instrumental music scene in Brazil, Leo went on to write and produce EPs, albums and singles for himself and other artists, both independent and with international labels; was nominated for awards in his home country; was featured on national TV and had songs picked up by major radio stations. With a particular love for genres such as R&B, Soul, Jazz and Brazilian music, Leo immigrated to Canada six years ago and now collaborates with esteemed Toronto musicians in a new album of originals titled Volume I.

Volume I is a six-track album fully written, arranged and produced by Leo and is the result of a spontaneous process of discovering and falling in love with Brazilian music after settling in Canada. Getting deeper into the music of Antônio Carlos Jobim, Moacir Santos, Marcos Valle, João Donato, Luiz Bonfá and Edison Machado was a journey of self-discovery to the Brazilian musician who for most of his life was enthralled by American music and wrote original songs in English.
